The Rural Agri-Innovation Network (RAIN), an initiative of the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, has launched a branding and marketing program in Algoma: Buy Algoma, Buy Local. Currently, the program has over 50 members who are committed to supporting local. Find local producers, processors, farmers’ markets, restaurants, retailers, tours & experiences. 

What we do

Buy Algoma Buy Local connects people with local food and drink in the region. We work closely with our members and participants to create awareness of how much Algoma has to offer from fresh produce, meat, fish, eggs, dairy, maple syrup, honey and so much more. We do this through:

Our recognizable brand, look for the Buy Algoma Buy Local logo.This helps customers identify where they can taste local, shop local and experience local in Algoma.

Algoma's Local Guide 2019, a guide to find where you can taste, shop, and experience local in the region. This includes local producers, processors, farmers' markets, restaurants and retailers. You can pick up your copy at various tourist bureaus, information centres and hotels around Algoma.
