Looking for a Christmas tree? Marshall’s Tree Farm is up and running; 20 minutes from downtown, follow Hwy. 550 (2nd Line) west toward airport. Follow signs from corner of Hwy. 550 and Carpin Beach Rd. White Spruce, Blue Spruce, Pine and Balsam. Free hayrides, tree hauling, treats for children and walk about through wildlife zoo. Open 10-5. Flood’s Farms (from Thessalon) has Christmas trees available at the Moose Lodge (543 Trunk Rd.) from 9-9 until Dec 22nd.

2 Turkeys Clucking

City Meat Market (814 Queen St. E.) has Penokean Hills Farms prime rib and local turkeys for your Holiday Feast (place your order early before Dec 16th!)

3 Craft Beer Growlers (drink responsibly)

Outspoken Brewing (350 Queen St. E.) has released its holiday beer, the Donner & Blitzen Yuletide Ale. Available while quantities last at the OutSpoken Dispensary Thursday 1-7pm Friday 1-9pm Saturday 1-7pm. Pick up Outspoken gifts, including branded graphic t-shirts, an assortment of branded glassware, and gift cards.  While you’re in the neighborhood stop by Shabby Motley (356 Queen St. E.) for a latte and pick up St. Joseph Island Coffee, tea or sample sized coffee beans for great stocking stuffers!

Mill Market is open Dec 17th & 21st and will feature these vendors: Meadowview Alpaca Farm’s Christmas Special with 10% off Felted Scarves until Dec 24th. Sayers Fishery’s new fish candy and smoked fish platter, a great appetizer for holiday meals. Marshall Farms has shiitake & oyster mushrooms as well as fresh greens and herbs.

5 Delicious Jams

Don’t miss Mill Market‘s (35 Canal Dr.) final Moonlight Market open Dec 21st 12 to 9 for the farmers’ market plus special Moonlight Market. Last chance to pick up special meat or local items for your family dinners! Thomson Strawberry Farm has its Holiday Gift Pack available, which contains 5 different types of jam packaged in a Pickled Birch Wrap.

6 Tippy Moose

The Tippy Canoe Gallery (9197 Hwy 17 Bruce Mines) is a gift shop and art gallery that features handcraft products from the Algoma region. They have local honey and maple syrup from Mountain Maple Products.

7 Knitters Knitting

River Rock Gifts (656 Great Northern Rd) is a new unique gift store in Sault Ste. Marie that features local art and products from Algoma Highlands Blueberry Farm, Goulais Bay Fiddlehead Maple Syrup and local felted wool mitts from Batchewana Bay.

8 Berry Pickers Picking

Scale Meats (1512 Wellington St. E.) has an assortment of Algoma Highlands Wild Blueberry Farm products, including a gift box with wild blueberry jams and butter.

9 Farmers Dancing

Penokean Hills Farms is promoting 20% off frozen pea/barley finished steaks and is offering a free roasting chicken with any sale over $200. Penokean Hills will be at Mill Market Moonlight Market Dec 21st from 12-9.

Country Way Health Food Store (79 Brock St.) has Pearce Farms, raw wildflower honey produced in Sault Ste. Marie.

12 Dozen Eggs

Algoma Farmers’ Market (Wellington Square Mall) vendors (Wilding Acres, Bellevue Country Kitchen & Salamander Ridge Farm) will have fresh baking, local eggs, preserves and more at the winter market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
