Buy Algoma, Buy Local is a member-based branding and marketing program made up of farmers, producers, fishers, foragers, chefs, artisans, winemakers and more. These business owners are family, friends and neighbours, all playing an essential role in our communities and regional food system. Even though we’re practising social distancing, we can come together.

Buy Algoma, Buy Local is a regional branding and marketing program to promote local food & drink in the Algoma region, initiated by Rural Agri-Innovation Network (RAIN), a division of Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, an organization focusing on enhancing the agri-food and food sector in Algoma.

Buy Algoma, Buy Local helps grow our agri-food and food sector by working with local producers, processors, farmers’ markets, restaurants, retailers, community supporters, and organizations. 

We focus on the following initiatives:
